Electrical, Gas and Plumbing training courses & assessments Academy

The g-lec Skills Academy is the award-winning training division of the gas-elec Group, long-established providers of utilities safety inspections and remedial work – in particular gas and electrical – in the UK residential sector.

The g-lec Skills Academy offers a variety of gas, electrical, plumbing and Health & Safety courses and assessments plus specialist courses, for example in Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA) for established operatives, or people who wish to train, or re-train, in these sought-after trades.

Our Courses

The Skills Academy is situated in West Drayton (near Heathrow Airport) and includes lecture facilities and practical training workshops. The trainers and staff are fully qualified and experienced in the delivery of technical training courses, exams and practical assessments.

These assessments are accredited by various organisations and institutions and carry nationally-recognised qualifications. The training centre is approved by:

Our electrical training courses and assessments enable both qualified electricians and those less experienced to update or enhance their qualifications in line with current standards

Successful completion of our gas training assessments, including core domestic gas safety, enables engineers to apply for their CORGI registration, whilst our course for professional heating installers prepares them for Part L self-certification

The variety of plumbing courses available will enable those already working in this field to increase their knowledge: alternatively those new to the industry gain the appropriate skills level required.

With the changes in the housing market, you may wish to train to become a Domestic Energy Assessor and therefore require our Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment DipDEA course.

Our Health & Safety at Work course will provide you with a basic knowledge of the requirements in the workplace of both the employee and employers.
