Plumbing courses

The g-lec Skills Academy offers a number of plumbing courses suitable for those wishing to acquire or increase their plumbing skills.

Our 12-week plumbing course will equip you with basic plumbing skills up to NVQ Level 2 (C&G 6129). It will qualify you to operate as a plumber (whilst en route to your C&G 6089) able to carry out a range of standard plumbing jobs such as: installing hot water cylinders; pipework; the wet side of central heating (but not gas); drainage and installing whole bathroom suites. A pre-assessment may be necessary for those with little or no experience.

Unvented hot water systems must be installed by a competent person, a qualification which needs to be renewed every five years. For those wishing to take or renew their qualification, we offer a short one day course.

We also run a short course on water regulations with training, assessment and certification completed within one day.
